Overview

League Play

WMYLC offers Girls lacrosse based on grade groupings:

  • K-2nd
  • 3rd and 4th
  • 5th and 6th
  • 7th and 8th

For girls 3rd through 8th grade, WMYLC will have Competitive and Developmental divisions based on number of teams registering. Competitive teams will play for standings to determine division champion and for the end of season tournament seedings. Developmental teams will also play for standings to determine division champions but will instead play in a play day style format (2 or more games) matched against like opponents on the weekend of the end of season tournaments.

The season consists of 8 conference games scheduled primarily on Sundays for Girls (make-up games scheduled as calendar permits). The season will start in late March or early April based on weather and field availability. Do not expect the season schedule any sooner than the week leading up to the opening weekend.

Tryouts/Evaluations MVAA Lacrosse does not currently hold try-outs/evaluations.

Practice

Girls teams 3rd through 8th grade will practice a minimum of 2 evenings a week. Practices will likely begin the second week in March, weather permitting. Scoopers and 1st/2nd Grade teams will practice 1 or 2 nights a week, based on the coach's discretion.

Practice nights, locations and times are at the head coach’s discretion, but usually last 2 hours, and are usually held between the hours of 5pm and 9pm. The amount of daylight in the beginning of the season will play a part in some practice schedules.

End-of-season WMYLC Tournament and Play Days

WMYLC will hold its end-of-season Girls tournament in late May. Developmental level play day games will be held the same weekend of the girls’ divisions.
